Quick question about chemicals. I have been keeping my liquid chlorine and MA in the garage. I have seen some differing opinions on whether that's a good idea. I don't have a ton of it - maybe 3 or 4 jugs of each. The only "cool" place will be in the house but I don't like that idea.
  • Store muriatic acid in a plastic storage unit, if you have kids, that is WELL VENTILATED
  • Store muriatic acid outside in a shady area
  • Never store muriatic acid near chlorine
  • Keep the muriatic acid away from metal as its fumes can cause rust. So a garage is not a good place to store muriatic acid.

Liquid chlorine is the same as bleach. Any cool, dry place away from sun is just fine and safe.

MA be kept outdoors in a bin. It is not temperature sensitive.

MA should not be kept near any metals as the fumes are corrosive.

I'm in Chandler as well. My garage can get to over 105 degrees during the day in the middle of summer.

My MA is stored outside in a small plastic deck box (away from the pool and metal).

My liquid chlorine is stored in my indoor laundry room. I store 4 gallon jugs in the plastic bucket they come in. Prior to having my SWG, I would store two buckets (8 gallons) in the indoor laundry room. Never had an issue with leaks ( buckets will contain all 4 gallons of liquid if required) or odors.

Sounds good. I'll pick up a small box to store the MA outside the garage. I can create space in the laundry room for the LC. This site has been a wealth of information already!

A few here have used a plastic garbage can to store their MA. Just be sure to properly mark the outside of ant can/box/container, stating it contains MA.
