Red flecks in liquid shock

Hello. I just got a new case of liquid shock. I used most of a gallon before I noticed it had red flakes in it. Also it doesn’t really smell like chlorine. Does anybody know what this is? Is it “bad” shock?

Liquid chlorine does lose strength over time. What is the bottle dated?

I suspect the red flecks are iron.

Not sure. That first number would seem to indicate Feb 8 2021?

21208 11:31 = year 21 day 208 = July 27, 2021

Depending on how the liquid chlorine was stored, it is likely down to 6% strength or so.
