I've lived by the TFPS rules for my pool for years and my pool is fantastic! I'm now a new spa owner. I have two questions:
1. Can I add CYA (30ppm) if Im using Bleach..or is Dichlor the recommended chem until I reach 30ppm CYA?
2. After researching shock levels I found anywhere from 5-10...what does TFP recommend?
I tried 10ppm of Bleach 36 hours ago and I still have Combined Chlorine of (.4)
I have not even used my Spa yet???
Current info:
Spa 426 gal
Temp 101
PH 7.7
TA 70 (still bringing it down)
CH 170
Using Taylor FAS-DPD

My CYA is zero..(see question #1)
Thanks in advance for any advice offered!

1. Either is fine. The goal is to just get some CYA in the water. Use what you have on-hand.

Have you reviewed the sticky about How to use Bleach in your Spa?
CC are not uncommon in hot tubs due to the lack of sunlight to break them down. Does your spa have any supplemental oxidizer like UV or ozone?
