When looking thru the manual of my chlorinator and noticed that a couple of the recommend levels that it says are different than the tfp chart.

The differences are (manual vs tfp chart)
FC - 1-3 vs 3-5
CYA 30-60 vs 70-80
TA 80-120 vs 60-80

I did not even know this info was in the manual, I just went to the manual to lookup info on setting up the timer and that when I noticed it. I have been keeping my pool in the middle of the range of the chart and should a switch and target the range in the manual or stick with the chart? Everning in the my pool is great know so I dont want to mess anything up, but dont want to damage anything either.

Stick with TFP, as it is based on science and not industry-wide recommendations. That said, some levels can result in voided warranties, but there's not much way they could find out what your levels are in some situations. I'd suggest trying to keep TA around 80 (to satisfy both), unless you need to keep it lower for pH effect. Keep FC at TFP levels (manufacturer levels are based on the incorrect industry standard "1-3ppm"). CYA would be impossible for them to know about unless you told them, and there are no known effects high CYA levels have on equipment - if so, then everyone that uses trichlor would be in violation of those levels.

gmp,

They are not all that different if you think about it.

We recommend a higher CYA level so that you don't have to run your SWCG as hard to produce chlorine. With a higher CYA you need to keep your FC higher to sanitize the water.

We recommend a lower TA because most saltwater pools seem to like a pH of about 7.8 and a lower TA helps the pH to not increase as fast.

There are nothing about our recommendations that will cause damage to your system or your pool..
