Raypak 156- roll out switch

Hello,

I have a raypak 156 natural gas heater. Roll out switch is constantly going off. I’ve cleaned the burners, removed heat exchanger and cleaned soot and looked inside (no build up of calcium etc.)

Flames coming off the burners are blue.


Any other things I can try? This heater is only 15 months old.

Post pics of the heater and the area it is in. Sometimes winds and the draft can affect the exhaust path.

If the heater is installed very near a taller structure (house, wall, fence) it can be subjected to downdraft, wind forcing the flame out of the combustion chamber. That's the main purpose of that switch.

I should add, we had no problems in the 2021 pool season with this and nothing has changed in the area around the equipment.

Try the high wind stack.

The gas line looks undersized.

Is that flex pipe?

That's not usually recommended.

What is the rating for the flex pipe?

How long is the gas line?

It’s 1” gas line, was installed by a HVAC contractor. Everything done to local codes. The run is about 60ft.

Can you show the gas line labeling where it shows the line size?

Flex piping is typically derated vs. hard pipe.

Do you have the manufacturer's chart for the line capacity?
