Raise above SLAM level if you can't SLAM?

We aren't going to be around to to a full SLAM process. Is there any harm in raising above SLAM levels if we are going to be away for a few days to kick-start the process? (no one will be swimming)

Too much chlorine can damage pool liners and equipment and is generally not a good way to manage your water. The guidelines are there for a reason and you should devise a way to stay pretty close to the guidelines.

No need you will be wasting and could potentially damage your equipment. Wait until you get back and start the proper slam.
