Quick closing question

Past two seasons we hired a pool guy to close our pool, this season we are going to close it ourselves, and I have mostly everything I need. My one question involves blowing out the lines. We have a Pentair SuperFlo VS pool pump. What fitting should I look for to plug in my air compressor to blow out the lines? I want to check in case someone else knows before I go to do it and need to make a hardware run.

Can you attach the compressor hose right to the top of the filter tank? I remove the pressure gauge and attach with a threaded fitting and blow everything right from the filter.
