I’m about to close myself for the first time, my pool is fiberglass. Should I drain below the returns before I blow them out (I have the cyclone) and refill a bit or just blow them out under water and plug them off. My sump tube is almost completely empty so I not worried about pressure from underneath (I’d refill same day) I have the twist in plug with o-ring…but was thinking about those duck plugs maybe?

Thoughts?

I didn't like my duck plug. The rubber lips and cap were flimsy and the ice ripped the cap off over the winter leaving the lips exposed. Bungee plugs are more robust and once sealed, the water weight will help keep the seal by pushing inward.

Or you can cap the lines with the threaded plugs while air is gushing out. It's alot of CFM but not much PSI. If you have multiple returns on the same line, plug them closest to furthest. If you cap the end first, and remaining water between returns won't have anywhere to go

Yes. Recirculate bypasses the filter altogether. Then you pull the drain plug and empty the filter that way either before or after.
