I am fighting what I believe is mustard algae - it comes back after a SLAM, it's on the walls of the shady side of the pool. The process for getting rid of it is to SLAM, then go to mustard algae SLAM level for 24 hours after than (brushing, getting behind light niches, etc). Why the wait? Why not go to Mustard Algae SLAM level right from the start?

The elevated level of FC for mustard algae is not safe for swimming and could be harmful to pool surfaces, especially vinyl lined pools.

Most important is to maintain the MA target FC levels after the MA SLAM.

For 24 hours it will be fine. Just extended periods there is concern for the dye on the liner.
