So Taylor Technologies suggests a range of 200-400, while Pool Math's ideal range 250-350. Not a huge difference, but I was curious what my plan should be living in Peoria, AZ with pretty hard water. I'm currently at a CH of 190 after an RO treatment. Should I used chemicals to get it to 250, or will it get there on it's own pretty quickly through evaporation on our hot summer days that are ramping up? I'm afraid if I use chemicals to get it to 250 this weekend, it will be that much more out of whack by the end of the summer. But I don't want to harm my new pool (still under a year old) if a CH of 190 is going to hurt my equipment while I wait for it to get to 250 on its own, without chemicals.
Thanks for any advice/opinions.
Drew

Your thinking is correct.

Let your CH rise on its own with evaporation and fill water.
