My current pump works fine but I'm wondering if upgrading to the Pentair SuperFlo VS Variable Speed Pool Pump would be worth it? How do I go about determining if it makes sense?

Where do you live?? (please add a location to your info). Are electric rates very high?? That's a huge motivator for most folks.
In one year the decision may be out of your hands if your pump goes kaput- the govt has mandated that *all* pool pumps over .7hp be variable speed.
Check your power provider as many around the country offer rebates on VS pumps.

I like mine just for the convenience that the options provide. I can choose to the 5 RPM exactly where I want to vac, skim, or let it ride full throttle for fast surface clearing after a storm. 99% of the time it is sipping electric which is also a huge plus. So I run it 24/7 without a care in the world. It never stops skimming and IMHO, the only way to go.
