Pump type

Hello, i hope you dont mind a newbie question.
I was reading about variable speed pumps and not sure what I have since I just bought a house. Here is a picture of the current pump. Also whats the best way to figure out how many gallons is my pool to calculate chemicals ? Thank you

What you have is a 1 HP, single speed pump...

One way to figure out the volume of your pool is to use pool math.. There is a calculator at the bottom...
