Complete newbie here. I will be setting up a Intex Prism 14'x48". I hit the sale on the Intex Sand Pump. I accidentally got the SF60110-2 (16") rated at 3000gph with maximum system rate of 2450gph. I do plan on using a robot vacuum.

Is this large pump going to be a problem for me?

You will have an awesome lazy river! And should not need to backwash much! :D

I didn't have that one but I did have the 12" I think 1600gph intex system with 50lb of sand and it did ok in our 15x48 but became very anemic after about a week and needed backwashing. It also had no power at all for vacuuming. The pressure gauge was either broke or didn't even go up but you could tell it was moving much less water.

For the price the intex sand systems are amazing but I think you're probably better off with the bigger one. If I was going that route I'd go with the one you did.
