The 27' pool we were given is finally up!! 6 weeks of sweat and it's up (still need to finish the caps) But now we have a new problem the pump is leaking. It's Pentair dynamo 340210. Can this be fixed? Where do I find parts? It most likely needs replaced. Can a different pump be put on my filter or do I have to buy a whole new setup? I don't even know where to start. Filter is a sand dollar sd60. Excuse my overgrown fence line...we've been a little busy

Looks like your pump needs a seal kit. Not usually a big deal and the seal kit will usually be less than $30. Don't put this off though. Pretty soon you will get pool water in the motor bearings and then the job gets a whole lot harder and more expensive. A good pool service should be able to replace the seal and still be better than buying a new pump. If you are handy enough it's very commonly a DIY repair. Call Inyopools.com with your model number information and they have a lot of helpful videos so you can judge if it's within your DIY skills.

I hope this helps.

That seal has leaked for a long time based on the visible damage. There are 4 long, very thin, "through bolts" that hold the motor togethers that also hold the pump to the motor.

Given the damage seen, likely the bearings in the motor are also. A new motor is about $175. 00 for a 1hp.

A comparable above ground pump at Doheny is about $240.00. Best option.

This motor is a 1.5 hp ...any other specifications that I need to match on a new motor?
You'll need Total HP (HP x Service Factor) and to match the frame size so it will bolt up to the pump properly. If you take a photo of the nameplate it has everything you need. You can talk to online suppliers with this information. Inyopools is a great place to start and there are several others. Check around for price and availability. Both seem to change a lot these days.
