Pump gushing water, hours later works fine

I woke up to my Hayward SP2303VSP MaxFlo VS gushing out water. Hard to tell where it was coming from it looked to be shooting out all around it about 2-3 feet high. I turned it off and turned it on 5 hours later and it works fine and has been for over 24 hours now. Any ideas????

Welcome to TFP! Can you post a pic or two of your equipment pad and describe as best as you can exactly where you saw the water gushing from?

Thanks for replying. It was hard to tell where. There was so much water. It looked like it was coming from all around the circled part.

That’s really strange. The water may have been from another source. What you were seeing was the fan on the pump moving the water, that made you believe it was the pump itself. There is no visible leaks while it runs now?
