Pump/Filter system offline - 15k gall of algae

Hello all,

Our Hayward DE filter system is broken, so our 24' above-ground saltwater pool is full of algae. Our new filter will be here in 5 days. Is there anything we can do in the mean time to improve our situation? We have a good pool vacuum that we just plug in and drop in the pool. Plus a few skimmer nets on poles.

Add one gallon of liquid chlorine per day and brush it around really well. Once you get the system running again, Begin the SLAM Process.

Texas Splash - Thank you! This sounds very do-able. I'm off now to get 5 gallons of bleach. Then all the things I need for SLAM. We really appreciate you taking the time to help us with this. - Bridget
