Hi All! So my pump just died this morning. We have a 18,000 gal inground salt water pebble finish pool. Currently have an jandy cartridge filter. The pump is a Waterway SMF 120 and the motor details are in the attached pic. I’m usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but it seems like that specific motor doesn’t exist anymore?? I can’t find it anywhere online. So I came here for advice on a good replacement. The pump itself is coming up on 10 years. Should I just replace that altogether?? Thanks for any advice.IMG_3879.jpegIMG_3881.jpeg

Confirm with Inyopools that this is the correct motor for your pump...

Note that spending a bit more for a new VS pump can save on your electrical cost depending how long you run your pump daily.

Is your pump connected to a GFCI CB for safety?
Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely look into this. Previously was only running the pump for less then 12 hours a day, and only that long because the wife like having the waterfalls on!! Yes, the pump, as well as the main control panel are each on separate dedicated breakers.

Any reasonably priced VSP will lower your energy costs.
At 12h/day you are using about $60/mo at $.15/KWh.
A simple VSP like the Calimar 3.0 VSP would cost you about $17 per month running 24/7 at 1400RPM. Which would also allow you to add chlorine, 24/7.
Oh and be MUCH quieter.

Calimar is a good pump, but there are others too, I just used it to show you the calculated saving. Your payback would be less than 18 months.
