I’ve looked for info on the pump cycle. We just set up at 27 ft x 54 in (17k gallon) above ground pool. We have a Hydrotools 24" Sand Filter System 2-HP Pump. What cycle does one recommend running it on? How many hours a day?

How long really depends on how much stuff ends up in your pool. The only absolute is if you have a slat water chlorine generator --- you'll need to run it long enough so it can generate enough chlorine. Otherwise it's all trial and error. My back yard is largely concrete deck and pool with cinderblock walls, so I get by with only two hours daily. Start with six hours and go from there.
