Aloha to all! We purchased a home in Nov that came with an ABG 24’ diameter pool and have been attempting to open it the past few days. When my wife turned the pump on we quickly learned that the pot on the Pentair Dynamo motor was damaged and would not allow the lid to fasten and seal. The previous owners had a replacement 1.5hp Doheny pump that we then tried to install, only to find out that the unions from the pentair Sand Dollar filter hose won’t work with the Doheny pump outlet threads. As first time pool owners we’re lost at this point. The easiest thing to me, it seems, is for there to be an male adapter that would screw into the Pentair threads on the hose union and a female opposite end threaded for the new pump, which I assume is a more widely available NPT thread. Does anyone know of an adapter like this? If not, is there a way to build a new pump to filter hose that will work with the Pentair filter? I also found a replacement pot for the Dynamo on Amazon (Pentair branded, no less) and could replace that piece if necessary. Any and all thoughts/advice are appreciated greatly!
