Proper direction of slope away from rectangular pool

I'm planning the patio/deck around a rectangular pool with a slope of about 1/4 inch for every foot of patio away from the pool. In a rectangular pool where the foot of the pool slopes away from the bottom side (down) and the side slopes away from the side (right), should the corner slope in the direction of the corner (down & to the right) as in the image below?

Unless there is a place for all the water to go, pool decks generally have drains that carry the water away.
