Problem with UV system?

One of the guys we had come to give us a pool quote is adamant that we need a UV system, I argued that we did not and that it only caused it's own set of problems. Can someone fill me in so I have a little better argument next time?

What are the negatives about a UV system?

Assuming this is an outdoor pool, there is little to no benefit.

I would challenge them to provide proof of benefit
