Pressure switch

Dirty filter or a valve not turned correctly can cause the pressure switch to not operate correctly. Also any type of obstruction could also make it not operate correctly as well as a bad control board could present a false error code.

On a sta-rite heater circa 2007 can you help me? The pressure switch seems to be getting propper voltage but I get a PS error on board. Can a switch with proper voltage still fail?

With the filter off (no flow I would think seeing voltage from the heater control board would be expected. With the filter on you should see no voltage and the pressure (flow) switch would be closed. If you are seeing voltage I would suspect your switch is bad.

2nd test - Disconnect the wires from the switch or at the control panel and use your meter set to ohms (resistance) with no water flow the reading should be infinity, with water flow it should be at or very close to 0 (zero) ohms.
