Hi! I have an above ground pool with a sand filter, and I recently purchased an Intex vacuum powered by the pump. It's worked just fine the several times I've used it.
However, as I have increased the water level above the level of the outflow, I now can't take it off in order to connect the vacuum. I just can't seem to get a strong enough hand grip on the plastic sleeve around the outflow. It was very challenging to do it with it only partially submerged, but now fully submerged I just can't manage it.
I probably need some kind of plier device to give me more grip, but the gasket is quite wide (several inches?) and made out of plastic that I'm concerned about damaging.
Does anyone have any ideas about what to do in this situation?
