Pre pool opening (white water mold)

It never flaps it stays pushed down but doesn’t flap. I flap it up and down when I change the sock because bugs are always stuck under it
I know what you said. But what I'm reading is that it's entirely feasible that the weir door is jammed up with crud causing the pump to suck air. :poke::ROFLMAO:

Go rule that out. :)

Oh he also said that my pressure gauge is reading high -20
It’s been and stays 20 since the pool was installed even after three weeks no backwash and using the ahhsome never increases pressure

Pump at 3000 rpm pressure 20
2250 pressure 11
1860 pressure 7

Remove weir door completely?
Just wiggle it good to prove it's not stuck.
Is perhaps the water level too low?
Also a very real possibility. Check the water height in the skimmer while you're in there.
Also how did my water level drop 3/4 of an inch by turning the pump off and back on only?
It sucked more air, or pushed more water out than it received trying to prime.
Pump at 3000 rpm pressure 20
Mine is 19.5ish, so that's entirely in the realm of ok.
basically is it more pipe gunk or is it environmental / body oils/ sunscreen
It could be long built up oils, or the mystery crud, or both. Either way, it's good it's getting expelled.
I don’t want to let up on it now right?
Min is lava. Zero exceptions. 😁

If it's affecting the daily loss some, run high enough for wiggle room. If not, then normal 'hot' is plenty.

If it's affecting the FC loss alot again, then attack first and keep the upper hand.

It was pushed downstrean when priming and more went out than came in. Eveidentally it stabilized at that point, but didn't fill the basket so whatever happened is still happening. You'll know you fixed it with the Weirs or water level when the pump fills completely.

Overall I say the water is an inch to an inch 1/2 lower than I normally keep it . Normal is mid skimmer .
When I checked the weir it moves freely just pushed down by water flow
Water in the skimmer also low
I have the hose in now

Do I let the pool company blow the lines tomorrow ?

Water level is up to normal or higher
Weir is flapping
Pump basket still as it’s been maybe just a touch fuller ? Or maybe that’s in my head
Def still see water pumping into / circling through the top

Does it clear on high speed ?

When was the last time you emptied the pump basket ?

Open it up, lube the o-ring and secure it good. That's another frequent flyer for suction leaks. (Still hoping nothing major happened out of the blue).

Should I backwash while I’m at it for good measure ?
That's after the pump and unrelated. It never hurts to start fresh but if there's no need with a large filter, you're just keeping your mind off the pump. Which also wouldn't hurt. 🤣

Ok well something seems to have worked .
After backwash and changing pump basket, lubing and replacing o ring
It took 1 min 30 seconds before water started to come into the pump , after another min it started gushing in like it should and into my freshly cleaned pump basket came two enormous bugs like half dollar size each enormous

Once pump prime was finished (5 min) the water seems to be at the top of the pump as it should be . I see a few air bubbles swirling but water is to the top of the lid now

Ty ty! Saved me $150 min

Keep an eye on it and with any luck it was that simple. 🤞

The universe TOTALLY owes you a solid. Probably a dozen solids. 🤣

August 27th is five months I’ve fought this thing (just this year )

Well over 100 gallons of chlorine (in a 10k gallon pool mind you)

But you can’t quit right ?!

If I close October 1st you know everything will get golden September 30
Give me 24 hours of peace would ya

A quick recap for something I know I’ve already asked (but don’t know how to find)

First real heat wave here this week

To keep water cool - cover open at night?
Then close during the day until we get in? Or do I have that backwards

Aeration when open

Water temp got to 86 yesterday (which is perfect for us ) trying to keep from warming too much more
looking at 95 degree temps all week here

Thanks
