Power washer crew possibly blew up my Pentair EZ touch unit? HELP me figure out please

The pool filter was running, I hired ppl to power wash the house. They finish.
I go out to pool, and not running anymore.

I notice the 12v 3amp low voltage relay is tripped. I turned everything off and on from the house panel, then Pentair panel, but every time I put the breaker on, the 12v low voltage relay breaker trips in 3 seconds. I do some basic google and looks like maybe main PCB is toast.

I unplugged the SWG surge board part 521593 from the main PCS and, the EZ touch works!! But I lose the wireless feature it seems because I see the antenna plugs into this board also? Not sure.

So what exactly is the problem here? The main board or the SWG surge board? Or maybe something else as simple as letting this "dry out" (highly unlikely)

I am grateful for your help. This pool is only 2 years old and i absolutely love it, but am really upset and my wife wants to kill me.
thank you all so much.

guy,

That cabinet is designed to be outside in the rain, unless they on purpose tried to get water inside, I doubt the problem is in there.

Did you find anything that was wet?

If you did, I'd try a hair dryer and see what you can do.

Do you have ScreenLogic or a wireless remote? If so, I'd look at the outside antenna first

Thanks,

Jim R.

You can unplug the coms from the IC board and leave the IC board connected to the main board and see if it trips. You need to isolate every connector. My guess is also the wireless.

Hi Both- great info thanks so much!!!!

I did not find any water or dampness what so ever inside the wall mount panel. I also failed to mention a separate GFCI outlet on my back porch tripped and I lost power to my kitchen so that's why I feel like is is 100% a result of the guys doing the spraying and not a random failure.

So are you both suggesting I just unplug the antenna cable? That's an epic solution if it works!!!!
I think i might try it now! 10:30PM!!!

One last question - when you say unplug the coms from the IC board and leave the IC board connected to the main board and see if it trips can you elaborate? I am really dumb with acronyms and electronics in general.

thanks so much!!!

UPDATE !!! 10:47PM

I unplugged the wireless antenna from the SWG Surge board, hit the breakers and the EZ panel lit up perfectly!!! No tripping of the 12v 3amp fuse!!! MY GOSH you guys are epically smart and fast and knowledgeable. thank you.

so now..... do i just leave it like this and let the wireless antenna unit "dry out" and plug it in tomorrow, or is something damaged and i just have to live without wireless until i make some sort of fix?

thanks again - much respect

guy,

Take the plastic top off of the antenna and see if you can see any water inside on the electronics card.

My guess is you have a 50/50 change that drying things out, might fix it. I don't see where you have any other choice, but to let it dry, or use a hair dryer, and see what happens.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hi Jim R (and anyone else)
So guess what? When I reconnected the wifi transceiver to the board, the relay fuse tripped. So despite letting it dry for 2 days, it is obvious that something is wrong with the board.

Some questions-
1. Are there people who do board level repairs for these?
2. If not, I have to buy a new board, but I cannot seem to find the part number online? All the searches I do reveal p/n 520946Z. Which looks NOTHING like the board that is in mine. Attached are some images of my board. Can you let me know what board part number I can order to swap in? Or is the 520946Z compatible and plug and play?
3. Can you comment on this "hack" where you don't even need the Pentair wifi stuff? Maybe i should try this instead of a $500 board? Do you know anyone who does this?

Thanks so much for your help. Attached are images.

I have the screenlogic2 but that is a hardwired CAT cable to your nearest router/switch. If you have free conduit going into the house then you can hard wire it. Dont know about the wifi.

Sorry- did not see the alert!
I did the hack. I set up the protocol adapter in the ET box, used a Wi-Fi extender there wired into 110v and it works great. I am in Norway right now and can pull up my ScreenLogic without issue.
