I just fired up my propane MasterTemp yesterday. Things don't seem right, but I am looking for some additional insight on what might be happening. The heater fires up (basing this on typical, deep hum and very hot air coming out of the exhaust pipe), runs for 20-30 seconds, then seems to cycle off. Then, kicks back on 30-60 seconds later....repeat. I have always thought the thing cycled on and off more frequently than I would expect, but this seems excessive. The pool water is right at 60 degrees. Might there be a thermostat issue? Any other ideas? How best to check the thermostat?

I forgot the mention that the "Heating" LED is lit while humming/hot exhaust and blinking otherwise.
After a call in to Pentair service, I *think* the issue is the Thermal Regulator. Regardless, mine looks pretty corroded, so I am replacing. I hope this is the fix.
I saw a heater rebuild kit for $99 on amazon, flame sensor, flue sensor, igniter, pressure switch, hi-limit... great price for all you get. Flame sensor was $38 by itself.

Sorry, I was thinking of the minimax, Pentairs other heater, not the mastertemp. Mastertemp uses a combustion chamber rather than a burner and does not have a flame sensor. I apologize for the confusion.
