Hello,

I'm new to owning a pool and have frequented this forum for maintaining the pool after having an algae breakout. I've gotten a test kit and been trying to keep the right levels. I have been ignoring the pool and just running the SWG chlorine at a good level hoping it would run the pool well enough. I've noticed some staining on the plaster and was unable to scrub it off. If possible, would like some advice or possibly solution rather than hiring someone.
Also am unable to keep pH TA low. I gradually put Muriatic acid daily but it wouldn’t lower so I started putting in half a gallon and it lowers for a day and raises back up soon after unless I keep adding muriatic acid.

FC 2.0
CC 0.5
pH 8.2
TA 130
Calcium Hardness 275
CYA 30 recently been adding from 0
Salt 3450
Any help would be much appreciated thanks for the knowledge you guys have provided to new owners such as myself. This is freaking hard.

Thank you. So no heater.

Have you added algaecides or other products that contained copper in them?

OK. Next step is to test for what kind of stain it is.
Take a look at that article. I suggest starting with a trichlor puck on one of the stains. Only let it sit for 15 minutes or so. Next is a sock of Vitamin C crushed up.
