The in ground pool was drained and resurfaced about 35 days ago. Diamondbrite finish. So far we added chlorine a couple of days ago as directed by the vendor. The SWG is now producing chlorine. The ph is high so we added muriatic acid. In what order should I be adding chemicals based on my Taylor test results? Should I get the ph under control before adding CYA? I am in Central FL.

Have you read start up procedures for your finish? The plaster company should have provided that.

You should add CYA to your water. Start at 30 ppm and build slowly to 70 ppm.
They provided nothing in the way of instruction. I asked and was told to add chlorine and not to use the SWG yet. That was 3+ weeks ago. The PH is still very high. They added muriatic acid and brushed while I was away for a couple days. SWG is operating now. Pool is crystal clear but bottom feels gritty In between vacuuming. We are still brushing and vacuuming and cleaning filter. I have added muriatic acid several times in response to my Taylor test kit results. I’ll add CYA next.

You can add all chemicals around the same time except add acid and chlorine at least 15 minutes apart.

Post what your current chemistry is:
