I'm replacing an older above ground pool that is partially buried about 16 inches deep approximately 1/4 of the way around.. can I buy any pool or should I be looking at the semi buried types? Thank you
Welcome to TFP! The choice to bury (partially or otherwise) an above ground pool is an owner's choice. Since the current opol is partially buried around a portion of the base, I suspect it's because there is a slope to the ground. Generally it's best to dig down to level a pool as opposed to building "up" the soil since it's difficult to compact soil and hope it remains solid. But as for the pool type, it doesn't matter. Hope that helps.
Thank you..I was planning to dig it out more before installing the new pool and putting some drainage pipe in before backfilling unless that's not a good idea
Most above ground pools on the market these days have it noted how deep they can be buried or if it is allowed without voiding the warranty even if they aren’t specifically labeled as such in the title/category so look for that info when shopping.
If rust is a concern there are now completely resin options (walls & all) such as the Aurora from the pool factory.
Most others labeled as resin still have steel walls but have resin top rails & uprights.
