Is there any dead algae on the bottom of the pool?

Filter pressure went up about 6 PSI when I vacuumed and added CYA. Should I wait like another 24 hours then backwash?

Is your Hayward filter a sand filter?
You backwash when the pressure goes up 25%.. Do you remember what it was when you started?
What is your CYA after you added it? Also, always round the number up. So it would be 40 if between 30-40.

Yes it is a Hayward sand filter. So after maintaining at FC 12 overnight and CYA of 40 do I now let chlorine level drift down to target of 7

Do you see any little piles of algae on the bottom? If you do, continue the SLAM.

No piles of algae. Didn’t add anything yesterday. Tested this morning and FC 11, CC 0. So I think I’ve passed the SLAM right? Now let the FC drift down to a target of 8?

Yes, it sounds like you've passed all 3 of the SLAM requirements.
Congrats on a TFP pool!
You can swim with FC below the SLAM levels, so you don't have to wait till it gets to 8. Fire up the heater and jump in.
