Still getting used to the tools available, and happy to find the little pool math "Effects of Adding" calculator. A few questions:

1) Does that calculator yield an answer based on the most recent chemical test results I have entered, or are these general-purpose calculations?

2) I haven't found a feature that allows me to log the chemicals added to my pool. It seems like this could be a super useful feature, especially if it allowed you to include $ of chemicals to work up an annual budget and perhaps a beginning of the season shopping list based on previous year's activity (for those of us who drive many miles to a pool store).

3) Wouldn't it be useful to be able to generate simple charts showing the fluctuations of pool chemistry over time, and include datapoints along the way indicating when chemicals were added -- perhaps with a dot size scaled to the volume of chemical added?

If Pool Math doesn't handle that sort of thing, is there another app that does? If not I'm thinking I might work up a graphing solution in Filemaker Pro.... but I don't want to reinvent the wheel....

The Effects of Adding is based on the input data you are putting in. It may remember your pool volume size and whether you use 10% LC or 12.5% but data is specific to your inputs. For example, if you select MA 31.45% and input 8 oz - it would calculate the effects on that addition of 8oz on your pool volume. It does not know what the current pH level is.

However, If you want to use current data then go to the OVERVIEW screen. Press on the specific icon such as pH. It will give you your current data from your test value. At the bottom it will allow you to input a TARGET value for pH then it provides a dosage amount.

On either the Overview page or the Timeline page - there is a big “+” sign at the bottom. Hit that and select several options from the menu. One is ADD CHEMICALS. Another is TRACK AN EXPENSE, or LOG TEST RESULTS

There is no charting feature in PM. However you can go to the hamburger menu and select SUMMARY. Then pick a time frame - You can see how many test logs were done, the max and min of each test value in that timeframe, , etc. Scroll down and you can see Expense breakdown and Maintenance logs.

There is an Export feature (have not done it) that you can consider and see what data comes back to you.
