Pool liner face lift?

We have an outdoor pool with a vinyl patterned liner which is about 4 years old. The area around the edge that sits out of the water is faded and looks dirty though cannot be cleaned up any. Are you able to add/ glue a pelmet on top of the existing liner to give it a bit of a face lift? The liner under the water is fine and still in great condition- so seems a shame to replace the whole thing when just a 30mm pelmet stuck on would improve its appearance 10 fold? Anyone know if this is a thing?

Welcome to TFP.

Never heard of a pelmet being done on a pool liner and have never seen anyone selling suitable material for it.

My first thought when I read this is to find some peel/stick vinyl to cut to size to place over it. Maybe add some contact cement to help it stick better. Oh how about cutting a shower curtain up? I have no idea if it would stay for very long but I do tend think outside the box and some it even ends up working.

I'll bet even before the pictures that the area in concern is probably due partly to the chemistry being out of wack.
It's the part above the water.

In any case, 4 years is a very short time to have issues.

What day was the liner installed?

What manufacturer made the liner?

Pictures would be very helpful.

If suitable material, such as a donor liner, was found I would use cement used for patching leaks and install it like a patch.

You do not want water getting between the layers where algae can hide.

That's where my head was at, cutting a cheap liner into long strips and using it as a waterline 'patch'
