Have a 30x15 gunite (cement) in ground pool built in 1998. The light is the original pentair.

Pool is 6ft deep at end.

Want to replace the light, its shot:
long lasting and easy to change bulb.

prefer a remote just to turn on and off,

Recommendations appreciated.

If the light fixture is still okay, get a new gaskets for it and a new bulb.

Is you light line or low voltage?

If line and you want an LED bulb, I have had good luck with this one so far: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KF1SHG9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If the fixture leaked and is ruined, they it's a pricey replacement. Just make sure to order one with a long enough cord. Also check the prices of lights with longer cords, sometime they are cheaper.

If you need to replace your light, make sure to attach a pull line to the cable before pulling out the old unit to make pulling the new cable easier.

I use a Pentair fixture with a screw in bulb. It's to replace the bulb if it dies. If it a fixture with LEDs, usually there is no easy way to fix them, even if you are able to get them open. Just use a new gasket anytime the unit is opened.

I like LEDs if they are easily and affordably replaceable when they fail. If you want color changing, LEDs are the only option (unless you want to change lens). If you just want a white light I would stick with the old school fixture with the incandescent bulb (it can easily and pretty cheaply be replaced with an LED bulb) that can be easily and affordable replaced. I am sure there are LEDs lights that live up to the claims that they last a decade or longer, but I am guessing they are not in consumer products, if the LEDs don't burn out the driver seems to Crud out.

It would be nice if Pentair supplied their non-intellibright lights with an LED bulb and not the 300W, 400W or 500W incandescent bulb.
