Pool Light Electrical Conduit

Not to divert the thread, but why are 45's more likely to a leak sources? I understand that sweeps are the ideal.

More glued joints to leak. 2X the amount if you use sweeps.

I've asked that question of several leak-detection companies. All they know, or will say, is that they find more failed fittings if they are 45s and always recommend against using them. Every so often a leak detection company will have a table set up at a supplier to advertise. They will usually have a display of underground plumbing that they have had to replace. Always several 45s that have failed (generally they split at the inner bend).

Curious as well. I see a lot of 45s in people's plumbing pics. I agree a sweep 90 is better for flow if doing a 90 degree turn rather than sistering two 45s together in a short space (Which my plumber also did BTW...sigh). But 45s seem common?

Update: nvm, I see this answered/explained above.

Its when they are underground that the problem arises for some reason. Apparently the stresses ae different when the ground moves (and it does all the time). I use lots above ground with no problems.

I am only a "handyman" level at electrical and plumbing (I call buddies when things are too complicated) but man this is a mess and I am so glad for future you that you are getting this fixed. I had to have lights and wiring replaced twice on my last pool and I think there is a high probability you would have had to pull up decking to replace those GloBrites the way it is now. I had those in my last pool and unfortunately two failed within 3 years.
