Pool leaks located, now how do I fix them?

Water has been leaking for awhile so I decided to find out where. I first located the wet area near the pool and dug. I was able to see stream of water flowing into the hole I just dug. I put the hose in there and turn it on to cause backflow into the pool. I was able to narrow down the leak thanks to the muddy water. One area was the skimmer wall. Water was leaking back in from the cracks along the right side. What type of material is recommended to patch that area? Also I want to be able to fill the pool to the rim like I used to before and I was thinking silicone gel might be a good idea due to the size and the location of the crack? Or should I use water leak sealing cement? Or some other material need to be used?

Muddy water was also flowing in from small pvc tip located on upper right portion of the photo. What is that structure for? When I put my finger in there, there was space and no continuation of pipe. Can I just seal it up with something? Does it serve any purpose that I don't know about?

Thanks for any help in advance since I am hoping to patch them up if possible over the weekend! :)

I just remembered. When the filter is on and I put a bit of DE powder to improve filteration, I see it come out from the small pvc pipe shown up upper rifht area of the 2nd photo. Does that add possibility of another leak somethere?

Does Dropbox have IMG code for 3rd party hosting? That way you can to copy the code, paste it into your post and the pics will show up in your thread. Hat way folks don't have to click out of TFP to see your pics. Lots of folks can't, won't or don't click out of the forum to look at pics because of firewalls, ads, spam, etc.

You don't need to fill the pool any higher than half way up the skimmer. The long top space you could use some sort of silicone caulk if it isn't going to be underwater. The portions within the tiled area I would use something like pool putty aka as AB two part epoxy.

In the second photo, which appears to be your auto fill, that second hole it to stop the pool from over filling so I wouldn't block it.

I am not sure dropbox has that feature. Initially I tried to upload photo but didn't have enough space. I tried to delete old photos but I was keep getting error and could not delete them. So I upload it to dropbox which gave me a link where people can view it. If anyone knows how to go about getting the image code for 3rd party hosting with dropbox, let me know!

I just like the look of the pool that is filled to the rim, that is all. As for "auto fill" you mentioned, I don't think it works anymore. I have been filling the pool manually for years already. I guess it is time to hit the homedepot. :)

More than likely the auto fill is set for halfway up the skimmer. If you have been keeping it higher than that it won't turn on. You can test it by pushing down on the float. If it doesn't turn on you can replace it. You can also set the level at which it turns on by adjusting the float.

Imgur offer third party pic hosting and i think Flickr does too. Photobucket used to until they lost their minds last week and broke the internet.

Once the water level gets above 2/3 high on the skimmer opening the skimming efficiency drops a lot.
