Pool just installed by company. Not sure its level enough

Hi we just had our pool installed Friday. We filled it up with water and are noticing that not all upright beams are flush with the wall. My husband went out with his level and went over to each beam. They are not level. ls this going to cause us structural problems or is it just a cosmetic issue. I have attached pics. Should we call them back out and have them fix it? UGHHHH

How's the water line level?

Wall leaning can come from and unlevel or an out of round condition. I suspect yours is more of the latter.

It's not uncommon and pools will stay standing that way, but it's not as well done as a perfectly in round installation. A better way to quantify it is to hang a string with a weight on it and measure how off it is from top to bottom. I have multiple legs that are 2-3" off that way.

Thanks for the reply. Water line seems ok. It just looks off in my opinion and we paid almost $2K to have it done professionally. Do you think its something we should call the company back for? Also just had this pop up. UGH. It makes me wonder if we have made a mistake getting a pool.

Agreed. If you have any power to do so, I would have them come back out and fix it. Also note that once a pool has been filled, you risk ruining the liner if you drain it 100% so that cost might factor in too. It's frustrating.

For the posts the thing to look at is the bottom plates and rails. Are the plates setting on the pavers or what ever they up under them?

Is the bottom rail rounded all the way around? Does it dip in or out in any area?

Now for the hose leaking. That kind of hose is the worse for that Time to get some sch 40 PVC to redo the piping. You will want to put valves under the skimmer and return as well as unions so under the valves AND on all sides of the equipment for ease of working on it.

I would also put a few pavers under the skimmer area for when the pool gets over full to have that water hit the paver instead of the dirt in that area. Have the paver slanted away from the pool to help keep the water from washing out the sand under the pool.

That Hayward hose split is just unlucky, I had the same hose in the same orientation for two years ok.

As Dan Dougher says, above ground pools aren't swiss watches. I had the same feeling when I got mine setup, like the whole thing is a rickety piece of junk and what have I got myself into. But after all leaks are dealt with and it's been standing ok for a month you'll forget about it and then it will just be fine for years.

The whole thing acts as a system. It’s not just one thing. It’s the sum of all parts. And due to the water it’s basically alive. You have to get it all working together. Address one thing at a time.

I’ve had mine done this year and it’s stressful but this place has done wonders for my anxiety.

I’m not done yet but I’m getting close. A little landscaping plumbing and deck work and I will hopefully be there.

Definitely get the level ok. Nothing will be good until that is sorted. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Great info. Our pool company is giving us 2 new hoses but will definitely being going the pvc route if it ever stops raining. I like in the St. Louis area and we have gotten about a foot of rain since midnight. Needless to say the pool is now overflowing. This too shall pass, right??

Good point. Maybe I'll just cut my losses as this point and landscape around so my OCD doesn't drive me nuts. lol
