Well, it depends....
Standard recommendation is to get CYA (with a SWCG) up to 60-90. As you likely know, the CYA helps protect against rapid Cl loss due to sun during the day. That goal has been established over the years as a good starting place for most situations. As for me? I like to run a little lower - about 50. Then I can dial back the SWCG a bit, and maintain a lower, but still effective, Cl level. BUT - in Minn., I don't have near the blistering sun levels other places get, nor heavy swimmer loads, etc. So my daytime Cl loss is lower, and I don't have as much risk of dropping too low.
Run all the tests again - but from earlier posts all you need is to add CYA and bump up your pH. Those can be done at the same time. Turn down your SWCG, and allow the level of Cl to drift down to your new goal (based on your final actual CYA numbers). Then play the game of balancing the "strength" of the SWCG and pump run time to maintain a steady level. That will change as the weather heats up, sun angle changes, pool gets more/less use, etc. Once I find a good stability set of settings, I may only need to test Cl twice a week, and may only do the whole range every couple of weeks, just to check.
