Pool finished and filled, quality issues?

So my builder finished my pool, fortunately I haven’t made the final payment yet...
Since this is my first pool, I don’t know what’s considered normal workmanship but a few things don’t seem right.
I noticed that there are at least 25 tiles that are chipped along the top edge, near the cover encapsulation.
Also, it seems like there should be caulking between the tiles and coping, what should be in there? Grout? Silicone caulk? Plaster?
There’s a part of the cover track is bent.
Speaking of the cover, when it retracts is seems like there’s some lose material that folds a bit on top of itself as it retracts. It operates fine, didn’t know if it was normal.

What should I expect The workmanship to be like before I pay him the final $12k.

Edit:

I added a couple more pictures, showing some gouges on the top of the aluminum plate covering the cover, poor cutting of the aluminum plate, In the last picture might be difficult to see, but it bugs me. When the covers all the way open, that aluminum plate has more of a gap between it and the cover on the sides then it does in the middle.

I just want to know what is acceptable and what is not what I meet with the pool builder.

IMHO those tiles with chipped tops should have been rejected when the boxes were opened and never installed.

There should be better grout that fills the gap between the tiles on the second pic. Usually I would say the gap above the tiles should be grouted and grout above the tile should be the same as that between and below the tiles. With the track above the tiles I don't know if the cover motions would cause grout to crack if installed next to it. Something should fill the gap above the tiles as you don't want water getting behind tiles and causing tiles to pop off.

The cover track is bent down in pic 3. I don't know if that will cause a problem as the cover moves.

@bdavis466 what do you think?

Those pics show a lack of pride in workmanship :( Those tiles should not have come anywhere near the finished pool. That cut is just sad to see. Time to have a talk to the PB to see how he is going to fix that stuff.

My thoughts:
  1. Replace any chipped tiles. Hopefully they don't mess up the plaster, but the chipped tiles are the priority as then look bad.
  2. Grout above tiles and below track. That's what ours has. However, a few small pieces have come out. It's so small caulk may work better?
  3. If the cover slider moves through that bent track area easily without any hitch, then that should be fine.
  4. Overlapping/folding material on the cover when it closes is normal. It's needed to get the proper slack so the water level can drop and still have proper cover support by the water.
  5. That aluminum pit cover should be replaced due to the terrible cut job on the side.

Definitely super sloppy. That aluminum piece got no cleanup at all they should have deburred all that slag off after they cut it. And of course it is very easy to see it was mis-cut. Tile is bad for sure should not have been used.
