I am going to drain my pool in late March or early April. I am going to stain treat with ascorbic acid before draining and changing out filter cartridges. Do I also need to add Metal Free and circulate before draining?

Once the stains lift then drain the water and fill the pool with iron free water. If you have some iron in your fill water you may want to add a sequestrant like Metal Free after the fill.

If my ph is lower than 7.2 will the ascorbic acid work as well? I am going to drain after stain treating and I hate to waste more chemicals on bad water. My ph right now is 6.8.
