We have a doughboy pool and I'm in Dallas. Of course it doesn't really get that cold. But you never know in Texas. Last year we had one night of below freezing temps. This year we have already had one night of freeze. So, the previous owners left this huge tarp like pool cover. I have no idea how to put it on. Plus how does this all work? I'm not breaking down pump parts! What if I need to run the pool during those freezing times?

I leave my pool open and uncovered all year. Of course during the leaf drop I have the extra work of getting the leaves out of my pool but it is worth it to me. We turn on our pump on the night we know it may get below freezing temps. Like your area ours is few and far between so worth it to leave it open.

Here on TFP we have seen where some covers cause more problems in that they get very dirty with leaves and such then that "leaf soup" ends up in the pool when you try to take the cover off :puker:

If you really do want to cover it let us know and we may be able to find a way to get it on where it will stay on. Let us know!

Ok. Nope no cover for me if that's the case! The leaves are a pain but I am managing it better this year.
