hello, we have had merlin tight fitting, elephant worthy, non mesh cover for 16 years and it is shot. replacements are running between $2.5 and $4k and after now replacing the liner not anxious to spend. we won't be at this house much longer either. what advice for solid cover with sand bags around can anyone offer?

You get what you pay for.

I doubt sand bags will hold a solid cover with the weight of the snow pack we got in NJ this year.

All the sandbags do is keep the edges from lifting up. The cover needs to have slack to go down along the walls to the waterline which supports snow/water load.

I suspect it’s the latter but I am not personally familiar with them.

Daybaron, When you look back at the cost over 16 years, it comes out to be 100-125 bucks a year. I would get a new cover, it will add to your home value. IMO
