Pool Cover Pump motor frozen - Little Giant APCP-1700

I have a two year old Little Giant APCP-1700 pool cover pump. The pump motor will not come on without my manual assistance. Once the motor begins turning it runs fine. I can't find any other threads that mention this problem.

- has anyone had this problem. Is there an easy fix?
- I have seen in other thread's that this model has a 3 year warranty. Will someone confirm for me please?

Sounds like perhaps the motor bearings might be sticking a bit until you free them. Could be because the pump has sat unused since last winter. On Amazon it does mention a 3-year warranty. I'd contact the company to be safe. Might get a new pump out of them.

Check the airlock port and check that the float switch is working smoothly. It is easy to open with four screws and clean it out.
