Reading the manual for the Raypak 8450 it says in bold “do not exceed 5ppm FC”

Our pool is salt water so I’m expecting to have 70-80 CYA which would require much for FC than 5. If im reading right is be around 10 FC.

Thoughts? Should I be concerned??

No. Pool manufacturer chemistry recommendations often assume CYA 0 and don’t recognize the chlorine buffering that CYA provide. Their water chemistry is from the last century.

I agree with everything you are saying. The warranties often say that not following the chemistry recommendations can void their warranty. I just accept that following TFP methods may give them a reason to not honor their warranty.
