Hi all! Our pool was perfectly balanced until we went to the beach and came back and it was a lime green mess. We spent two weeks getting things balanced and after last night adding floc, my numbers look pretty good again.
ph7.6
Free and total chlorine 2
Alkalinity 90
Calcium hardness 250
Cya 40

in ground, vinyl liner, 18,000 gallon pool.

The issue is I used to use up to 64 oz. of sodium hypochlorite with 12.5% chlorine each day to balance and now that is nowhere to be found. We had to buy Cal hypo at the pool store, but when I add it, my pool becomes cloudy. Any advice? Should I just buy bleach at the store and add more volume of that bleach?

Welcome to the forum!
How are you testing your pool water chemistry?
I suggest you read Recommended Levels. Your FC is far too low.
If your pool is clouding up when you add cal hypo, I suspect your TA and/or pH are higher than your data indicates.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
