We recently completed our pool and had standard water/fire bowls installed.
There is discoloration that’s normal water will not remove. We want to fix the problem but are hesitant to try cleaners. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you use to clean them? The bowls seem to be a concrete bowl that is painted. Attached is a photo of the bowl with the discoloration.

The discoloration looks like calcium/salt/scale solid deposits left from evaporation that mild cleaners will not remove.

Try using vinegar which is acidic as a cleaner. If that does not work you can try a 1:10 or 1:5 diluted muriatic acid solution and then neutralize the area with baking soda.

Past that you need to go to scale removal techniques - Waterline Scale Removal - Further Reading

Test any cleaner in a small non obvious area to make sure it does not take off the surface color.
