Buying a foreclosure in a couple weeks. The house has been vacant for at least 6-8 years but I believe the pool has been covered and untouched for 10. It's a plaster pool that seems to be in pretty good shape from the few looks that I got. Nervous and excited to bring this property back to life. I only have a couple pics of the pool at the moment. I'll update once I make settlement. Never had a pool before so I'm glad I found this site. I always prefer to learn how to do something the right way myself so I can understand fully what is required. I'm sure I'll have many questions and I'll share my journey along the way to possibly help others too.

Gee, good luck. Last time I saw a pool that green & dark that was vacant for a while, they pulled a deer carcass out of it. Have some aspirin ready for all that sweeping & raking. Can't wait to see the converted results.
This was a few weeks ago when it was still a bit cold out. The pics aren't that great but it actually wasn't green. There is a pretty good layer of fine silt at the bottom making the water appear dark. Haven't seen it since and now that it's warm, it probably is very green. I'll keep posting my journey and hope for no carcasses.
