Have an old Polaris now that I moved that came with the new house. It doesn't work. Is it worth rebuilding?

I am not even sure as there are no markings on it. It is one that is white and blue and has the mesh bag coming out the top.
It is most likely a 280 - see picture if this matches to what you have.
You can buy a rebuild kit that is cheaper than a new one. Also some pool stores like Leslie's will do the rebuild for free if you buy the parts from them. There is also several videos on u-tube to search for that give detail explanation.
Or you can ditch it and buy a newer upgrade model or even go to robot.

Not sure your location and don't the electric rates you have but using this kind of cleaner needs to have the pumps running. If you go with a robot then it'll work independently of your pump and filter.

There are several models of pressure cleaners offered by Zodiac under the Polaris brand. It is easy to identify each model. If you remove the bag and look down the throat of each unit, you will see small jets. The number of jets is the first number in the description of the unit. If the unit requires a booster pump for proper pressure it will have an 8 or 9 as the second number. If a booster pump is not required and the unit operates off the regular pool returns, it will have a 6 as the second number. Example: 380 has three jets and requires a booster pump.
