At least I think it is the pump. Took a video so there would be sound but phone won’t let me pick it. Don’t get any movement from the Polaris tail when I turn the breaker on. Anything else I should look at before tackling a pump replacement?

You have had a shaft seal leak for some time. Your pump is 10 years old and needs at least a new motor. That is a Pentair LA01N pump, not a Polaris pump. They require different motors. you can buy the motor online for about $300 and then need the seal and O ring, perhaps an impeller, or a new pump and get a new hose kit as well, for $400.

What I'd like to now is why these 3/4 HP booster pumps have doubled in price over the last 3 years? The Hayward 6060 pump used to be $200, now its over $400. Someone, somewhere, is making a bundle off us!

Yes, I know everything is more expensive post-Covid and post-inflation, but this is ridiculous!
