Yesterday TA was high and water feels soft
Didn’t test CH but 2 days ago was 250 but also 2 days ago PH was 8.2
Always worried about my heater - it’s off but…
Yes let’s keep me as Jackie RN Jesus I even spelled Jackie wrong that time I’m sorry! your so patient!Jackie, is this you too (below)? Did you make two profiles by mistake. If so, we can have @Leebo merge one of them for you to avoid confusion.
Please help me understand
Was using stabilized pucks and tested the water, cya was 180. Drained almost half of a 20k gallon in ground pool. Refilled and tested cya is 147.00ppm. Kid told me it’s probably not “Mixed yet” since we drained below the filter, pump was off. In the meantime I thought I saw some yellow algae...www.troublefreepool.com

Given those numbers it’s safe to swim. It’s often said that it’s safe to swim all the way up to SLAM level. Please just let me know - FC should be 7.5 percent of CYA
If mine is 9-10 it’s ok to swim?
I got my 2006C kit and I’m learning. But we want to swim. I have lots,of liquid chlorine as I drain a foot of water each day and refill it. I cannot drain 1/2 the water at once. Our liner is already compromised from heavy rains. I
Cya yesterday was 96.
Ph sky high today over 8 maybe because TA was 160 I have oh down should I use it or something elseHa ha. Yes.
Best to use muriatic acid (full strength 31.5%) to lower the pH. Since your TA is also elevated, I would suggest using the PoolMath APP to dose with enough acid to lower the pH from 8.0 to 7.2. When the pH hits that mark again repeat. Each time you do that it will slowly pull the TA down as well.Ph sky high today over 8 maybe because TA was 160
I’m having friends over today- I had 2 pounds of sodium bisulfate and dumped it in. I’ll remeasure in 2 hours - and go to the store. Can I mix the muriatic later since I used the other?Best to use muriatic acid (full strength 31.5%) to lower the pH. Pour slowly near the return jets. Be mindful of splashing and the wind direction with the muriatic acid. It's the perfect product to use but deserves respect. Otherwise you may need to see a nurse for help.![]()
Also I paid to get the advanced app but again I’m still figuring out where the heck it is I just keep opening a basic thingI’m having friends over today- I had 2 pounds of sodium bisulfate and dumped it in. Can my friends swim?
Yes. The dry acid should be long gone and dissolved by then. You can add liquid muriatic acid later as needed. Can I mix the muriatic later since I used the other?
Give the acid a minimum of about 15-20 minutes to circulate and disperse really well first. If you have poor water movement for some reason, you can brush things a round a bit.Can my friends swim?
Oh, okay. No worries. @Leebo can verify for you. Stand by ...............Also I paid to get the advanced app but again I’m still figuring out where the heck it is I just keep opening a basic thing

Oh and after the acid how soon can I add chlorine to keep it up? It’s dummy but it seems I need it with my high cyaBest to use muriatic acid (full strength 31.5%) to lower the pH.
