My pool company installed the liner today and went straight away to fill it up. Is that normal? The liner has wrinkles, is that normal? The floor had cracks I asked to have fixed but they threw the liner in over them and you can feel and see the ridges under the liner. Is this normal? Please help. My PB says the wrinkles are normal and the weight of the water will take care of it. I read differently online. Am I wrong

I should also share the cracks I wanted fixed. I don’t think they addresses them at all. How much of a problem will this be going forward?

So the big fold like 'wrinkles' are from the liner being too big. Pretty sure they will need a new liner with the right dimensions to fit better. The smaller wrinkles are from not having the liner stretched well in thise areas during fillup. Or there were smaller folds there and the water was able to smooth it out as much as it did. The crack line to me would be unacceptable And the folds/wrinkles. Not for the amount of money you just spent. No Ma'am. Not for a second.

What a hideous job they did. No way is that normal. We had our liner redone this summer and they did a perfect job. The job on your pool is a mess. Sorry! And they most definitely should have fixed the cracks. I would honestly hope you haven't paid in full yet. I'd be tempted to get a different company in to fix it since these guys are idiots.

Looks like water hasn't gotten to wrinkles so they probably will flatten out they are minor from what I see on a phone screen. Now the cracks are an issue. Edges can be sharp and tear or wear thru liner. They should have been edged and filled or patched at the least. Not a good situation. They probably found them tight and not loose pieces and said OK structurally sound good to go.

So I threw a fit and they are coming back to seal the cracks. I guess peel back the liner, fix then redo. There was a ‘’miscommunication” about them addressing the cracks before installing the liner.

Got better shots of the wrinkles this am. Any feed back from anybody if this is normal?

They look like they will all be ok except the last pic on the shallow floor. That will not settle out without kicking the liner tight to the wall. Once water is on it it will be too heavy. When we do liner over stairs we water truck to get to shallow floor and tighten up liner as it goes up setting the stairs. We usually try to be doing work on fillup day so were there otherwise we wont do it without trucking the whole pool too many issues arise

Looks like you have a Vermiculite bottom. Those cracks are no big deal. The vermiculite is non structural and is only there to give the liner a smooth, soft (softer than concrete or grout) surface to sit on.

Looks like vacs are off on 2nd set of pics. Looks like those wrinkles will lay out.

Thank you so much! They did fill the cracks and so far as wrinkles they have worked out for the most part. They are working on the tanning ledge now.

I really appreciate everyone’s time and feedback. This has been a very stressful process.

Posting pics of the progress.
